This has nothing at all to do with the sub-prime mess and everything to do with investing for the long haul. The sub-prime mess was caused by unqualified people getting loans, and doing so by not putting money down. People wanted to get in and out with a "fix and flip" and many got burned as the market values dropped. Is is a <i>fact</i>, that real estate has been a solid long-term investment. The post say your investment (down payment) should double over the next ten <i>years</i>, not months.
